Public Finance Data

A major part of our practice is devoted to concerns of public finance and budgeting. For example, in New York, going all the way back to 1995, we have collected detailed expenditure and revenue data for over 3,200 local government entities.

In some cases, we’ve linked the financial data to operational and demographic data. For example, we’ve linked miles of streets, roads, and highways belonging to local governments to their spending. And, we’ve developed comparative measures of spending per capita.

That’s a lot of data. So, it’s really easy to get lost in it. In our consulting, we’ve used these linked data in evaluating potential for shared services and for other potential savings, including dissolution and consolidation of particular local governments.

Visualized data for specific engagements are customized. But we also develop visualizations that are end-user customizable.

We’re in the midst of re-designing this page and adding functionality. Please check back.
